Leibnitz, Austria, hosted the first workshop entitled “Early Warning System Workshop” from 17 through 19 November 2014 within the international MURA 2015 Project.
The Workshop was attended by representatives from Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia. After the introductory lecture, participants were divided into three groups pertaining to their scope of work. The topics tackled early warning system models, cooperation in operational and communications centers and legislation challenges in the area of early warning (both national and international).
The Republic of Croatia was represented by participants from the National Protection and Rescue Directorate, Croatian Waters Company, Water Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Čakovec Firefighting Unit and Meteorological and Hydrological Service. The next workshop dubbed “Flood Rescue Workshop” will take place in Hungary from 8 through 10 December 2014.
